A Load Of Bull

Sunday, September 2nd, 2007

BullApparently Hari’s salon in Knightsbridge, London has recently started using Bulls semen to style their customers’ hair! Ugh! Sounds disgusting, but this it is actually a really good hair conditioning treatment. The salon has taken note of Cameron Diaz’s style, remember there’s something about Mary? The comedy? When Cameron’s character Mary accidentally used sperm to style her hair.

The treatment takes around 45 minutes and gives your hair an intensive conditioning experience. The product is made of semen from Aberdeen Angus bulls in a Cheshire farm and the root of a katera plant. The owner of the salon Mr Salem has been searching for the perfect product for a long time and now he has started using this he says it really works. The treatment costs £55, check out www.metro.co.uk for the full article.

Avocado and Mayo Conditioner

Thursday, August 23rd, 2007

AvocadosYes you read the title correctly! Apparently avocado and mayonnaise is a fantastic conditioner for your hair. It livens up those locks giving them a shiny glow and provides a great source of nutrients for dry or damaged hair.

MayonnaiseAll you need to do is mash up one avocado and mix with half a cup of mayonnaise, apply to your locks as though it were a normal conditioner and leave on for half an hour to soak in thoroughly.

A proper nourishing experience for your hair and scalp without the additives of a branded conditioner!

Bumble And Bumble Classic Hairspray

Sunday, August 19th, 2007

Bumble And Bumble Classic HairsprayThis is a classic hairspray that should be sitting on every girl’s dressing table. It’s a really controlling substance that you can use on hair that is living large or even just for taming those straying manes. Unlike your regular supermarket hairspray that leaves your hair so crispy and knotted that you have to stand for half an hour trying to brush it out, this hair lacquer brushes out easily.

It comes out in a fine mist and will leave no residue or that horrible flakiness you get with some hairsprays and can be used on all hair types for a strong hold. Available from the Bumble and bumble website it costs £15 – a bit expensive for such a small can of hairspray but if it’s going to hold your hair style all night then it’s totally worth it.

Wet 2 Straight In Seconds!

Sunday, August 19th, 2007

Wet 2 Straight In Seconds! There’s no need to blow-dry your hair any more thanks to these Remington professional straighteners. If it’s crinkly waves you’re after, in less time than it takes to do your mascara, then this is the styling tool you should know about. Even if you’d rather the sleek, shiny and straight look, look no further as these do both. They have gold ceramic plates that are ready to use in just 60 seconds and a temperature that soars up to a high heat of 200 degrees.

They will give you smooth, shiny and frizz free hair in seconds. They can be used on all hair types and also come with their own heat protection bag. From the Protect & Shine range, they’re available for £59.99 from the Remington website or even in a few high street stores such as Argos.

Style with Molton Browners

Monday, August 13th, 2007

Molton BrownersI don’t know about you but all this heat styling and summer sun is not doing my hair any good, so I have been looking for ways to still create curls and waves but in a more natural, less damaging way and I think I have found the answer; Molten Browners!

I was obviously searching Molten Browns website, not for hair care I must admit but during my search I did happen to come across these hair friendly curlers that create texture without drying out your hair. Simply roll, twist and leave for luscious waves or leave a bit longer for beautiful curls. They’re really quick and easy to use and the outcome is surprisingly effective! So if your hair is suffering from over styling with heat appliances or just needs a bit of T.L.C after a long summers holiday, treat yourself to a bundle of Molten Browners for £29!

Big & Bigger

Friday, August 10th, 2007

Big & BiggerSick of having fine hair that has seen better days? This Fashionista Big & Bigger from Catwalk will bring back the volume you’ve been missing. You can use on wet hair before styling and it’ll leave you with a firm hold, or even scrunch into dry hair for that ‘just got up’ look. Humidity resistant, it’s perfect for when you’re on your holidays.

I’ve got so much hair that I’m permanently having to get it thinned out, but I know for those of you who have thin locks, you’re probably wishing it was thicker – us girls are never happy with what we’ve got!

This product can be used on all hair types and is colour safe with a blueberry muffin fragrance. It comes in a 200ml bottle, costs just £10 and is available from most hair salons or tigihaircare.com.

Instant Streaks

Wednesday, August 8th, 2007

Instant StreaksIf like me you’re forever changing your hair style but don’t want to ruin your hair, these clip-in instant streaks can add a slice of colour to your locks without having to worry about damaging your roots. They are available in a wide range of different colours from caramel brown for a more subtle change to a wild copper red for a bolder appearance.

At only £2.50 each they are a bargain! Hair extension pieces can sometimes be rather pricey so if you’re not looking for a dramatic change these could be just right. I’m fed up with going out and my hair always looking the same, so I’m forever having a different cut or colour, but having a few of these put in could be just my answer. They are available from Additional Lengths who specialise in hair extensions, hair after care and even false eyelashes.

Cowboy Hats!

Friday, August 3rd, 2007

Cowboy HatWith summer finally here and summer holidays to look forward to for those lucky few, you will be needing to take extra care with those locks as we don’t want to go into winter with sun damaged, brittle hair! The best way to do this is to try and avoid UV rays getting to your hair, as it will dry it out especially if you have highlighted or bleached hair! The only way to successfully do this is to sit inside all day or to wear a hat (I advise the latter!)

This season’s trendy cowboy hat makes it easy to protect your hair and look cool at the same time! Lets face it they do look the part on the beach and what’s better they keep your hair from sizzling! The straw will also keep you cool, much better than those thick sports caps I used to wear and will guard your face from the rays! There are many shops that sell cowboy hats, however I like this one from Accessorize with a cord tie and shell detail for £20.
