The products are said to contain a variety of scrumptious ingredients that you can usually find associated with skincare such as nettle, white tea, watercress and wheatgerm and have been laced with the sweet smell of Bluebell.

Usually we associate headbands with summer but many stars are still wearing them and summer has certainly disappeared this year! This time round it’s the hippy headgear that is all the range, this tie band is a hippy print with a paisley design, using a mixture of purples, yellow and black it really does have that hippy look to it.

When choosing a band or head scarf, go for sparkly ones or bright colours. They are ideal to use as a quick fix on a bad hair day or when you are trying to grow a fringe out. Pantene really do cater for all hair types and colours. This intensive conditioning mask is from the smooth and sleek range and is a treatment to be used to turn dry, straight or wavy hair into gorgeous smooth and silky hair all day long. There is a lot of controversy as to whether these products actually do as the labels say but I have used quite a few of Pantene’s products and I think they work great.

I have always been really pleased with the outcome, so I think I will have to try one of these masks as well. They are available on the Pantene Pro-V Website and are sold in most supermarkets. Unlike many salon based products, these are usually sold at affordable prices.

Apparently straightening is sooo last month and the latest craze with celebs such as Eva Longoria is the shiny blow-dry look. Charles Worthington really does some great products; this Maximum Shine Serum has got to be one of their better buys. Ever feel that even though you’ve just washed your hair it doesn’t have that shine you were after? This serum not only adds a glossy shine but keeps those fly aways at bay as well. It also has a built in UV filter to protect your locks from the sunshine.

As part of the new Salon Shine range, the Gloss Polish and Gloss Spray are both recommended to use for better results. For me waxing is a no-no, so I stick to my trusty tweezers. But I just never feel as though they have been done properly. Some A listers prefer a thick statement brow but they still need grooming. I think these are a wicked little invention, I know how frustrated I get when I’m trying to do my eyebrows in broad daylight and I still can’t see what I’m doing properly!

I love the tried and tested sections in magazines where they have a few different products and they rate each one out of 10. Firstly it saves me having to buy the products to test out myself and also they prove that it’s not always the most expensive brands that come out on top. This week in Mcelebs – the Sunday Mirror supplement the four products in the experiment were Lucinda Ellery Exceptionally Restoring Treatment Hair Balm (£18.50), Charles Worthington Dream Flawless Finish Balm (£5.49), Lee Stafford Babe Wave (£4.99) and Tony & Guy Smoothing Balm that I mentioned in the previous post (6.99).

Each product is designed to reduce frizz, lock in flyaways and make your hair feel smoother and look shinier. Rated last with 5/10 was the cheapest product Lee Stafford Babe Wave, it can be sticky if you apply to much but works well if the right amount is used, another comment made was that results didn’t last very long but overall it was OK.

In third place with 7/10 was Charles Worthington’s Dream Flawless Finish Balm. Testers mentioned good results with noticeable smoother and shinier hair and less flyaways but again not perfect. The packaging is pretty cute though! Superdrug are currently selling this product on offer for just £3.99.

The most expensive product Lucinda Ellery Exceptionally Restoring Treatment Hair Balm came in 2nd place, testers seemed to love the packaging and design of the product, said results were great and hair even stayed frizz free in the rain. The product is much more expensive than the others but you only need a tiny amount for it to work well.

In first place was Tony & Guy Smoothing Balm from the ‘Straight’ collection I mentioned earlier. Awarded 9/10 for results and price, testers said it smelled great, helped make hair more manageable and kept locks frizz free throughout the day. At only £6.99 there’s no reason why we all shouldn’t test out this product!

So there you go, Toni & Guy’s smoothing balm won the overall experiment but all products received good comments from testers.
