Kerastase Resistance Volumactive Expansion Spray

Wednesday, April 2nd, 2008

Kerastase SprayIf your hair needs a little lift then I highly recommend the Kerastase Resistance Volumactive Expansion Spray. You apply from root to tip for best results and watch your hair become full and amplified! The product was originally bought for me as a birthday gift and now I don’t go away without it.

My hair is naturally quite flat and lifeless so this is exactly what it needs, I have tried other similar volumizing products such as the Sun Silk range but the Kerastase definitely works best for me. My hair is always left looking soft and shiny – just as it should!

This fab product is available at HQ Hair for just £13.35

New Tigi Bed Head Superstar Range

Wednesday, April 2nd, 2008

Bed Head Superstar RangeI’m a big fan on Tigi haircare especially the Bed Head products so I was thrilled to see that a new collection had been added to the Bed Head range. Superstar consists of several luxurious products including Thermal blow-dry lotion, Volumizing Hairspray, Volumizing Leave in Conditioner, Superstar shampoo and conditioner and Queen For A Day.

All the bottles are pink and purple – the ultimate girly collection and all reasonably priced (most under £10 per bottle). I must have made my way through the whole Bed Head collection so I am very pleased they have launched these fab new products!

The products would make ideal gifts for friends and are all available at HQ Hair to buy now.

Boost Your Hair

Wednesday, February 27th, 2008

S Factor Booster SprayIf you are a little unimpressed with your hair at the moment and feel it needs some umph, there are plenty of new products in the shops to boost your hair and bring back a bit of life to it! There is a great range by TIGI called S Factor which has all sorts of new products including booster sprays, hairspray and silky smooth serums.

I was looking for something that could give my hair a little more volume; the Body Booster Plumping Spray does just that. I even give a quick spritz to dry hair it refreshes and heightens hair, being handbag size a great idea if you’re on the move and need to boost your look!

Remington Wet2Straight

Tuesday, December 4th, 2007

Wet2StraightMy trusted straighteners that I have had since I first realised that frizzy hair was not cool have finally given up on my this week. However its actually been a blessing in disguise because my replacement straighteners have halved the time it takes me to do my hair when I get out of the shower. I’ve bought a pair of Remington ‘wet2straight’ straighteners. This fantastic time saving device allows you to straighten your hair from wet so where I would normally spend half an hour wrestling with a blow dryer to get my hair dry and in a condition ready to straighten, now I do not need to bother.

The wet to straight straighteners have holes along one side of the ceramic plates so steam is directed safely away from your face as the hair dries. They can reach 230 degrees so are hot enough to give you a perfect result and they work just as well on dry hair. There are wide and slim varieties available. I bought the wide ones because my hair is quite long but they are useless for straightening my fringe so if you have short hair or a fringe I recommend the narrow style. These straightens are less pricey than Ghds and a must have if you have lots of hair to manage and not much time. At Boots there is currently a 1/3 off so a pair will only set you back 39.98.

ghd Christmas Gift SetI imagine the majority of ladies will be praying to get their hands on GHD’s fabulous new gift set marketed as the Christmas Giftbox. This fab new package contains the GHD IV Styler, a cute GHD Metallic Clutch Bag (heat resistant of course), GHD Metallic Purse for your make-up essentials, a GHD mirror, GHD Thermo Protector mini version and a Thermodynamics Creation Spray also mini.

I know its highly unlikely considering the discussion points of this blog but if there are any male readers looking for something for their girlfriends this Christmas, look no further… this is the ultimate must have, in my books anyway!

The gift set costs £149 and can be bought from HQ Hair, more information available on GHD’s official website.

Jordan Haircare

Wednesday, October 31st, 2007

Curling TongsWell what can I say, is there any marketing pie Jordan doesn’t want to get her finger in to?? She’s done it all, jewellery, accessories and now hair care!

HairdryerI personally think the new range looks as tacky as I would expect anything sold by her too look like, but I haven’t tried and tested for quality purposes, so if you are a fan of hers – which I’m clearly not, then give her the benefit of the doubt and try these new products.

StraightnersThey might work well, I can’t imagine they’re going to the job that top salon products do, but it may be worth giving them ago for the price alone.

Superdrug is currently stocking the range and the have curling tongs for £12.99, a hairdryer with attachments for £19.99 and a sleek pair of straightners for £19.99. It appears from the Superdrug website that the hairdryer is currently out of stock so someone out there must be loving it!! You can check out each product in the range either on line or pop down to your nearest Superdrug to see for yourself.

Heat Activated

Monday, October 8th, 2007

Bed Head UptightNo longer do we have to sit under heat lamps at our local salon for our hair to stay curly. Bed Head Uptight is a heat activated product with the purpose of revitalising naturally curly or permed hair. All you have to do is spray on whilst hair is damp, then apply your normal styling products and blow dry as normal.

It will leave you with stylish ringlets or sexy waves depending on how you style your hair. It can be used on any length hair and is a long lasting formula. This product will make you go from hating your hair to a curl maker, making you love your locks. Available from at HQ Hair for just £7.65.

Curls Made Easy with Babyliss You Curl

Monday, October 8th, 2007

Babyliss You CurlYou may already have curling tongs, but trust me you’ll want a set of these Babyliss you Curl! For me, trying to use a normal straightening iron to curl my hair is an absolute nightmare, everyone says “its as easy as curling a ribbon with a pair of scissors” yeah right! I’ve only ever known hairdressers or people studying hair, to be able to do it that way.

For the likes of you and me that haven’t got the first clue, we need these. You just run them through your hair like a normal straightener, but the curved plates will leave you with loose, sexy waves. So much easier than going to the salon. This video demonstrates how it is done and we might even stand a chance of doing the back bits with these. Currently available at Amazon.co.uk for £39.99.

Super Smart

Sunday, September 30th, 2007

Super SmartIf you feel like you’ve got boring limp hair that has been colour treated then this is certainly the box set for you, and what a bargain, you can save yourself £17.75 off this set at the moment so you need to get in quick. The set is called Super Smart and contains Dumb Blonde shampoo and reconstructer, Superstar blow dry lotion and Thickening spray.

All products are by Bed Head so will be easy to find even if you want to purchase them separately. If you visit HQ Hair now you can purchase this lot for just £24.50, instead of the original £42.25. That is a great saving in my eyes, I love all of Bed Head products, they really do as the bottle says and works wonders.
